Just last week we were unleashed with creative methodologies to go deeper - to free our right brain and unlock our potential that's lurking just below the surface of the mundane.
I found it enormously satisfying. Creative by nature I suddenly found a realm in which it was easy to express myself, make sense of my purpose and importantly answer the question - what next? I have been able to set myself on the next path of my journey and reawaken my purpose with a whole host of ideas.
One of the things I have committed to doing is to listen to one TED talk a day. If you haven't come across TED then I recommend taking a look. Since 1984 TED has provided a platform for ideas worth sharing. There are some amazing talks on there. Like brain researcher Jill Bolte Taylor who studied her own stroke as it happened.
As well as the main TED videos they support a grassroots movement known as TEDx which is designed to help communities, organisations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED like experiences.
What's this got to do with pregnancy, birth and parenting. There are, as you may imagine, lots and lots of talks on the science of pregnancy, the experience of pregnancy and the challenge of parenting. Bear with me as I'm in the process of putting together a playlist.
In the meantime take a moment to watch this TEDx talk by the inspirational Nicola Goodall. If you've ever wondered where we get our ideas about birth from and how to reframe them, Nicola may have the answer - Enjoy!
